The Spanish Seafood Paella – a seafood lover’s dream!

This dish contains crayfish, haddock, mussels and salmon, made with arborio rice just like a traditional paella! This is comfort food – Spanish style! The seafood in this dish also means it’s a great source of heart-healthy Omega-3 oils as well as a host of vitamins and minerals. Seafood has been shown to have numerous health benefits from helping maintain healthy joints, skin and eyesight to improving heart health!

Arborio Rice (23%), Water, Cooked Tomatoes (Tomato, Tomato Juice, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid)), Mussels (Molluscs) (14%), Hake (Fish) (4%), Smoked Haddock (Fish) (4%), CrayFish (Crustacean) (3%), Onion, Red Peppers, Yellow Peppers, Parmesan Cheese (Milk), Salmon (Fish) (2%), Butter (Butter (Milk), Salt), Garlic, Olive Oil, Turmeric, Black Pepper, Sea Salt, Paprika.

This tray is suitable for both oven and microwave use.

Microwave

To prepare, pierce the film lid several times, place onto a plate and microwave (800w) on full heat for 2 minutes, stir, then cook for a further 2 minutes until piping hot.

Oven

To oven cook, pierce the film lid and place the tray on the middle shelf of a preheated oven (190oC or 170oC fan assisted) for 30 minutes until piping hot.

Storage

Keep refrigerated 0 to 5oC. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze by the use by date shown and use within one month. Once defrosted (in a refrigerator) cook and consume within 24 hours.

This seafood paella is a traditional Spanish dish, and contains crayfish, haddock, mussels and salmon, made with arborio rice just like a traditional paella!

The seafood in this dish also means it’s a great source of heart-healthy Omega-3 oils as well as a host of vitamins and minerals. Seafood has been shown to have numerous health benefits from helping maintain healthy joints, skin and eyesight to improving heart health!

Just as saturated and trans-fats can cause heart disease, there is a group of fatty acids that can actually prevent it – they are Omega 3, fatty acids, in particular EPA and DHA. They have a positive effect on the health of your blood as they lower bad cholesterol and can prevent unnecessary arterial clotting, (stroke and heart attack). There have also been studies to suggest that a diet rich in these polyunsaturated fats can improve learning abilities and cognitive function and relieve depression. Fatigue, itchy dry skin and brittle hair and nails can also benefit from these fatty acids.  An intake of about 1.1gms for women and 1.6gms for men per day of these oils is adequate, and this dish puts you well on the way to reaching that weekly target!
